
João Santos Dias is the Chef behind O Ato. The 32-year old Chef discovered his love for cuisine early in his life. He worked in several restaurants, after leaving Escola de Hotelaria do Estoril, and in 2015, he was invited to be the Chef of the Portuguese Embassy in Brussels.
In 2017 he returned to Portugal where he took over the kitchen of the “Ofício” in Chiado and in 2018 he leads the kitchen of “Au Point” from where he leaves to embrace the challenge of conducting the kitchen of O Ato in August this year.
By combining his passion for classic Portuguese flavours and Lisbon’s scents with tradition and creativity, João Santos Dias creates his own modern dishes that reflect his love for Lisbon. Every dish is a modern take on a Portuguese classic.
